About / positioning

I build systems
that have to work
in the real world.

I’m Codie Shannon, a New Zealand software developer and contractor focused on business systems, workflow automation, integrations, internal tools and practical product engineering.

My work spans C#/.NET desktop and web development, business workflow software, Python/FastAPI, Node/TypeScript/Vue, SQL, document processing, QA tooling and Unity development.

The common thread is controlled operation: explicit state, evidence, human review where needed, clear failure modes and software that communicates what it is actually doing.

01

Build the useful thing.

Start from the operational problem and prove the workflow before adding polish.

02

Keep boundaries visible.

Review-first actions, explicit permissions and honest limitations beat magical automation.

03

Leave evidence behind.

Tests, screenshots, release closure and readable repositories make the work inspectable.
